TONY AWARDS 2017 – LE NOMINATION

Annunciati gli spettacoli e gli artisti in lizza per la 71a edizione dei Tony Awards

A poco più di un mese alla grande serata di premiazione, Jane Krakowski e Christopher Jackson hanno annunciato ufficialmente la lista delle nomination della 71a edizione dei Tony Awards.

Quest’anno gli spettacoli in gara sono stati 45: 20 “musicals“, 20 “plays” e 5 “special performances“. La serata di premiazione avrò luogo domenica 11 giugno nella celebre Radio City Music Hall di New York e sarà trasmessa in diretta dalla CBS. A condurre il Gala sarà una star del grande schermo: Kevin Spacey.

Grande favorito di questa edizione è il musical di Dave MalloyNatasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812″ che ha ricevuto ben 12 nomination tra cui Miglior Musical, Miglior Libretto e Migliori Musiche. “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812″ (o per gli amici semplicemente “Great Comet“) è approdato a Broadway nel 2016 ed è basato sul capolavoro di Lev Tolstoj Guerra e pace.

Segue, con 10 nomination, Hello, Dolly! che si batte contro Miss Saigon e Falsettos nella categoria “Best revival of a Musical”.

Piccola curiosità: il comitato organizativo dei Tony Awards ha annunciato pochi giorni fa che a partire dalla prossima stagione teatrale, quella cioè 2017-2018, verranno reintrodotte le categorie di “Best Sound Design of a Play” e “Best Sound Design of a Musical“. Tale decisione è stata il frutto di una revisione delle regole di voto durata ben 18 mesi!
