Tony Awards 2018: trionfano The Band’s Visit e Harry Potter

Si è svolta anche quest’anno alla Radio City Music Hall di New York la grande notte di premiazione dei Tony Awards, il riconoscimento teatrale più famoso al mondo.

A presentare questa 72ma edizione del celebre Gala di Broadway sono stati chiamati Sara Bareilles e Josh Groban, che hanno ironizzato col pubblico affermando che “l’unico modo per poter presentare i Tony Awards e non aver mai vinto ai Tony Awards“. Ricordiamo infatti come la stessa Bareilles fu candidata nel 2015 ai Tony per le musiche di Broadway Waitress da lei composte, premio che poi andò a Hamilton.

A trionfare quest’anno sono stati il musical The Band’s Visit, con ben 10 premi, e la prosa Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Parts One and Two, con 6 premi.

Ospite attesissimo della serata Bruce Springsteen che, dopo aver raccontato alcuni episodi della sua infanzia in un quartiere cattolico ha cantanto My Hometown.
